Pretty sure a lot of pple will say Patrol or Cruiser. But none will say Explorer. Ask your local Ford mechanic what there Nickname is. Most have a similar fate to your Pajero.

Diesel is good. Lot of options though. A lot of what ifs really. An extra 5 mins of typing here asking bigger questions may save you some trouble after buying.

I have an 80 series Turbo diesel and cant fault it for towing. Suggest you do a bit of a search through this section as the question gets asked often.

G'day
Just a quick one, don't discount petrol, they will be cheaper.
I only say this because your boat is only 16' and wouldn't really be that much of an issue

i have quite a few nissan GQ Patrols and can highly recommend them 4.2D is the best. the last one had 350,000 on the clock when i sold it and was getting stronger.
u should be able to get an older one for that money

PS i think you will find the petrol 3 ltr one is worth staying away from.

Go to a wrecker and find another motor to put in it.
Some low K Magna motor will do it, Probably get one installed for less than 3 grand with a warranty.

And that left over 7 Grand hang on to it.

gotta say that i do agree,,,,but only on the earlier models,,,,the drama they had has since long gone,,,,but with the budget that plat a puss has to play with may be an option to be wary,,,,

oh i work for a ford dealership,,,,,,,

rough as guts has the appropiate answer if that fits the need,,,,,

At $10,000 you should pick up a pretty good 4.2D GQ. Get the right one and it will be a good vehicle for the task. My son recently bought a 1990 GQ shortie with 4.2D and it is a great vehicle.
