Yeh rob the bait freezer is heavily stocked with tuna now so im ready for a trout and red chase for sure! Was good to get on the water after a week off it and chase some speedsters!!.... Lets hope some good weather now comes our way and ill be out there for a night fish for reds and whatever else comes along!
Lotsa bustoffs can become very frustrating!!
Bring on some good weather!

Hey guys, with borderline conditions reported today Shane (bazzaman) and I cautiously headed out from Yorkeys Knob, Cairns to go for some high speed spinning around Double Island. Bait was pretty thick today with what appeared to whitebait or baby pilchard getting hammered by mac tuna early on the surface and various other species down deep. In the early part of the trip I got ahold of two mac tunas while Shane had some bad luck with bite offs although we did get a small doggie onboard. Not really in the mood for more mac tuna we tried to work the metals near the bottom resulting in some gt action. We were both well tested by these brutes with Shane getting steamrolled into structure and my fish eventually coming to the surface after a long drawn out fight. After the gts we struggled to get hookups, the only fish to follow were some more doggie macks and a lone turrum around 8kg to Shane. The weather deteriorated around 3pm bringing a prompt end to fishing for the day. Enjoy the pics :D
