View Full Version : Rods per angler per boat
Hey guys,
Might be a stupid question but does anyone know if there are any rules on the number of rods allowed per angler per boat??
Cheers Luke

Yeh mate. "Hand-lines or rod-lines with up to 6 hooks on each line are permitted. When fishing from a boat, no more than 3 lines per person are permitted."
That's straight from the DPI / Fisheries website. I would assume that the 3 rod restriction, means in use at any one time. I hope so because I generally carry more than 3 in the boat (2 baitcast, 1 light spin and the fly rod).
All the best

Jack got it right. 3 lines per angler in use unless you are in the GBR where in yellow zones you can only use 1 line.
No spearfishing in yellow zones either.
Watch the hook numbers as this can change in some fisheries.
You can carry extra gear so long as it is stowed and not in use.

Thanks Dave and Vern,
theres a lot of little tricks to this game and could land yourself in hot water if I don't know these things. Is it the same deal on a jetty or bank?

Boat or beach, doesn't matter.
