Fishing Comp Rules

I heard along the grapevine that a frozen mackerel (less fins) was weighed in at the Straddie Classic. Apparently the weighmaster did the right thing and turned them away. The Straddie locals kicked up a stink and the fish was accepted.
Did this actually happen?
I thought that fish in these comps had to be caught in the 24 hours prior to weigh in, could not be frozen or mutilated in any way.

Rule 3 sates
"ALL FISH ELIGIBLE FOR WEIGH-IN MUST BE WEIGHED WITHIN 25
HOURS OF BEING CAUGHT, BETWEEN WHEN THE FISH IS CAUGHT
AND WHEN IT IS WEIGHED, IT MAY HAVE BEEN ICED DOWN BUT NOT
FROZEN."

From what I have found out, the rumour mill has got hold of this story.

The fish had no sign of being frozen, the eyes where in good condition. There where no net marks or any other markings on the fish, it was simply missing the top fin. The fish was checked and questions were asked about the missing fin. As there where no marks of any kind and the fish was in fresh condition it was excepted.

Fisheasy, have you seen the results on the qfm board? the largest mackerel was approximately 2.5kg and the runner up 1.9kg.

Someones raided the bait freezer ;) ;D
