Just a quick note to let you all know, you have a great site ambassador out in the field & thats' Fitzy.
I bumped into him at the Faust Barra Comp. Besides entertaining a few of us with his "colourful" yarns one night over a few beers, he went out of his way to help a mate of mine who had a bit of bad luck.
We were heading across the lake, late in the arvo, into a stiff chop to catch the 5pm end of fishing deadline when we noticed one of our tackle boxes was "missing" off the back deck. Besides being chock a block with lures & gear, it had his mobile & wallet.
Pretty much our own fault for fishing to the limit & ripping across the lake without battening down the hatches, so to speak.
Word got around the bar that night, & besides getting shouted a bucketload of drinks by "strangers", Fitzy ripped back to his room & returned with a (large) bag of lures, plastics & gear etc & passed them on down the bar.
I may not have been supposed to mention this, but I just did anyway ;D.
It's refreshing to see some good, old fashioned, down to earth mateship about the place from those at the sharp end of the fishing community. As all too often you only get to see/hear from the pompous wankers about the place.
