two - barbed sting ray

my canadian sister in law claims she found a dead ray near byron with TWO barbs. is that possible?

yes.. all stingrays carry 2 barbs.. one above the other.. they carry the 2nd like a backup if the first one doesnt get rid of the attacker ..
