Well, I've heard and seen some things in my life, but this one takes some beating. Sitting here, a tad bored I guess, so I looked for another fishing website. I found 'Fishing Chat Australia'. I have never read such garbage in my life, 99% from the same author (anonymous), apparently they're not game to identify themselves in any way in there. I wouldn't want anyone to think I was guilty of writing such crap either. On top of that it seems to have bugger all to do with fishing. Knowing nothing of other sites, I had nothing with which to compare this one. If you want to do something to help you appreciate our site, have a look at an alternative. It's not hard to find, (even easier to leave.) Noel

Yeah, I like this one the best because , a lot of the people on here are local to me ie. Brisbane and SE Qld. www.fishnet.com.au is another I had a bit of a look at, but it is a tad slow, and mostly Sydney, Melbourne and SA members plus a few from Qld., not a lot of crap on it though. :P

heres a list of forums:

http://groups.msn.com/fishingaustraliamike/links1.msnw

also try sportsfish (I think they advertise on this site) and fishsa

Forums like the one you mentioned inevitably just end up with topics that aren't allowed on forums like this one.

I like this one the best too. Much easier to use.

Not to mention Fishraider which not only has Sydney reports but also some for the Caloundra area

I rather like fishnet really, nice set of people. Where it is a bit southern based, this site is a bit northern inclined. I enjoy both.

Ive been a member of all the big fishing websites.. Fishnet, Sportsfish, Fishing Monthly and so on, all great.. till i made my own ;) now i only visit 2 sites.. Ausfish and mine hehe.. all the others seem to fill up with idiots who dominate the forums and abuse every new member alive and active on the boards, even for asking a simple question that might have been asked a few days or weeks or even months ago.. Ausfish is the only forums ive found that doesnt have the idiots who rag on about themselves like they are living legends and they can catch 150lb marlin in a 2ft puddle

Gee that's a bit rough Zeek. There is a few of us that use both fish net and ausfish. I for one don't consider myself an idiot, bit long in the tooth maybe!!!! ;D

I have enough trouble keeping up with one site. Not going to dare have a look at the others mentioned above.

As for the guys on this site, have never had a bad response, and I have probably asked some dumb questions from time to time.

Am still amazed at how helpful and how much information the experienced guys offer.

you and all the other ausfishers who use those forums are probably the only decent ones left on those forums then ;)

Probably fair to say that everyone finds their own comfort level. I have been so obsessed with fishing that one site to read just wasn't enough. I have seen all the sites mentioned here, posted on three including this one and I was a fishnetter before I found good old Ausfish.

Reckon I have found my online fishing home here. :)

Cheers
Steve.

"they can catch 150lb marlin in a 2ft puddle"

That is the amateurs among them Zeeke..the real pros can catch a 300lb marlin in an empty beer glass.

Thanks for the feedback. Seems many agree this is a better site than some others. I know nothing of the ones I haven't mentioned. No great need to. Pleased that some replies indicate blokes that might be getting on in years like me. (65). Pretty computer illiterate, but can still fool a fish now and then. I know most of the fish youguys talk about BUT???? What are Grinners. I don't know them. Noel.
