should I be using mono or wire as a leader when spinning for tailor? I was plnning on using jinkai but had heard that wire was necessary - any thoughts?

nuthing (swivel on split ring) unless using very small slugs
a leader will encourage fish to hit the leading knots bubble trail, tailor will hit the tail of a moving bait 90% of the time
i agree, i was spinning for tailor a year ago and just kept picking up enormous dart. Even they just went for the tail.

I use 14lb Fireline as main line so i have to use a mono leader as it would probably take my finger off when casting. I use Jinkai or Penn 10x in 30 or 40lb. I have not been bitten off as the Tailor I spin up are all under 2.5kg and they hit the rear of my 65g Raiders. If you are using 15 - 20lb mono as your main line you could get away with no leader at all.
