fishing in the passage today i can across an undersize bream that had a tag on it what are you supposed to do with it? i put the little fella back in the drink but what if he was a keeper who do you inform and what info do they want length, weight, location?

the idea is to record tag number and measure the fish, handle very carefully, then there is a ph number on the tag to ring
if the fish is of legal size you are legally allowed to keep, but it would be nice to record info and release it again as it provides valuable data the longer it is in the water the better

As Blaze said, main thing is to record tag number, length and location and phone it in. Fish tagging provides valuable information on fish growth rates and movement. It might even have been one I tagged about 3 weeks ago, though more likely Mick Dohnt. He tags hundreds on fish in the passage every year.
