Beeen to the Solomons for 9 days a few years ago, fishing was brilliant. They have had a bit trouble since then though.

I would suggest you go to Uepi Island, http://www.uepi.com/index1.htm only thing there is the resort. It is on the edge of the lagoon. Good coral along the eastern side and then 200 m out is 1000 feet deep and just keeps getting deeper every meter you go away from the island. There is also pleanty of opertunoty to fish inside the lagood and islands for trevs, jacks by the hundreds, spot tail bass, etc.

They were only just starting to do fishing trips when we went there so it would be worth checking to see if they offer now days.

Also fished out of Munda, fishing was brilliant there as well. Think the fishing charter/dive operator is now in Vanuatu (Steve Cook I think was his name).

Been about 10 years since I fished in Vanuatu, it was brilliant then and it never been the most popular place to visit so it should still be great. Hopefully now that survivor was filmed there it will not get too busy. The people there are very friendly and very layed back, if you go there just remember you are on Vanuatu time, sit back chill out and relax. It wont happen quickly but it will happen eventually ;D
