salmon fishing

A mate is planning to go to New Zealand in MArch 06 to catch a quinet salmon

HAs anyone been there chasing these fish?

Info on the net isnt easy to find.

I would appreciate any tips or info regarding the tackle used etc etc

Yeah, I'm the same, only chasing Blue and Threadfin. There would have to be a site somewhere that explains there habitat and how and what they feed.

Try typing in trout fishing new zealand same family as the rainbow trout,(salmonoid) using the same typ of tactics etc.. should be plenty of info on the net try a few different search engines etc..
