Whitings favourite colour/fly

I was recently chasing whiting in the surf around Agnes Water. I had lots of bumps on pink and green clousers and got busted up by something that looked like a Threadfin when it jumped out of the water then trashed my 6wt line around the rocks.

What have others had good success on.

Mate there are good numbers of Salmon around the bundaberg 1770 are at the moment.
a fella in bundy over x-mas came into shop i was in carring a thumper salmon of 35lb.
clours i have had sucess on are in clousers, pink and white as well as red and white.

It was 15 years since I'd been to Agnes/1770 atleast the fishing hadn't changed.
