Finally cracked it!
A 10-12kg longtail at Harry Atkinsons yesterday.
Conditions were excellent - glassy, over a dozen working pods of tails to choose from and no mack tuna to get in the way!
They weren't easy to sneak up on so I drifted around the bait balls and waited for them to pop up.

The fly was a pale green anorexic clouser that Wes gave me a while back. Thanks!

The fish were up early - at about 6.30 they were chopping around all the anchored boats at Harrys. By 9.30 they were getting very difficult to approach. Friday weather report looks ok, might have to go back for another look.

Cheers

Duncan

Duncan,

Well done!!!

The clouser is a great fly. Can't beat its action.

I've tied up some new flies I'm keen to try on the Longtails.

I'll have to start chasing the Moreton Bay Longies after I've had my fill of the Hervey Bay Golden Trevally. I've been get a few on the same fly you used.

Keep us posted on your success.

Wes
