Does anyone here own/use a Pflueger fly reel (1878 Supreme or 1978 Trion (damm sexy reel))? good/bad/indifferent ?
It will be used in both fresh and salt has to hold up fairly well. If you'ld rather other reels in a similiar price range, please reply.

The OKUMA Integrity is a much tougher dependable reel, with a good drag, and still cheep..However the Supreme will deal with all the freash water stuff you can hook it too.A dude I sometimes fish locally with has 1 and besides the drag knob falling off it works alright.(Hes into soft plastics now so I havent seen it in a while). Hi Vort,
I own three 1890 Phlueger Reels and i carn't seem to break them !
I've used one on tuna for 1 and a half years before i brought my 11/12 vortex and you could'nt falt them. The only thing is that they are not large arbor so it makes it difficult to wind all the line back. Give them a good clean after every use and you should have no problems.
Steve :)
