Would LOVE to hear some input on this subject. There are a LOT of fly-fisherman out there, and I hear that a lot of the Salt Fishers occasionally hook onto a squid, but hard to keep a hookup.
What about Fly Fishing for SQUID??? With a Squid Fly???
Check out the photo, and let me know what you think. The one in the photo is a fairly slow sinker, about 2" long, not too heavy, probably about same weight as a saltwater streamer fly.

Here in Thursday Island, I often catch squid on normal flies but I have tied bunch of hooks together and tied some kinky fibres over it and it catches squid, tarpon and wolf herring.

yeah Franco,
Yesterday, I was on to a patch of queenies, I was hooked up and this thing was jumping all over the place then a shark jumped out of the water and grabbed the queenie mid-air. Awesome sight, what happened after that was another cursing and swearing episode.
