Hi All,

Looking at going up to Hervey Bay early next year to have a go at chasing some goldens on the flats. Looking for some help with times of year, rod weights and flies.

Also, wouldn't mind trying to get a couple of longtails while up there, is there a time of year where the two overlap ???

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,
Allan

Allan,

From about Nov-Mar, the Golden Trevally are on the flats.

8-11 weight rods and any fly so long as it's a clouser.

The best time to get both Longtails and Goldens is when the water cools a bit.

Wes

P.S. My image is a Hervey Bay Golden Trevally. I love them.

Hi Wes,

Thanks for the reply. Have come back from a couple of outside trips around May and have seen alot of tuna round on the way back in. Was hoping that there would be a period that the two would be available.

Have rod in that range. Will have to start clouser production.

Thanks,
Allan
