[smiley=2thumbsup.gif] I have just returned from an awsome 10 day trip to Groote Island in the Gulf of Capentaria aboard the luzxury mothership "The Iron Lady".

The in-shore /bluewater fishing along the bottom of this beautiful , remote island is as good as I have seen in the country to date.We experianced everything from sight fishing to red emporer on gin clear shallow reef flats to free casting to pods of feeding sailfish and black marlin in bait balls from the 5 metre tenders ! We landed a total of 43 different species on fly between us in 9 days fishing, with the average size of the fish encountered being larger than in many other areas.

With only a limited season from mid-September to December, I can't wait to get back again next year 8)

Jeffo:The general cost of most 6 day 7 night fishing packages Up-North is around $4500.00 Ex - where ever you are going - We did 9 days 10 night with the game boat included at $5800.00 Ex-Groote ( Air fares to Groote from teh East coast are around $900.00 ).

We are working with Dan on the Iron Lady to put together 6 day 7 night trips at $4500.00 Ex-Groote based on groups of 6 for next year - you can give us a call if you would like more details.Groote truely is an amazing fishery that we'll be hearing more about in the future ;)
