Have read a few articles in recent Mags about the new 'Suzies' and they sound dam good.

Send me a Fax Number or an address and I'll send you copies of these articles. I'm sure you will find them helpfull.

Hi Michael,

I will collate it all and fax it tomorrow.
'Australian Fisherman & Boatowner' , was one Mag that had done some testing on the new Suzies, although maybe not the 75hp ?

Cheers
Craig.

Michael,

You call what he does "a job" - every time I'm there he's either surfing this site - reading fishing/boating magazines or feeding his opet Mangrove Jack "Fang".

It's not a job - more a lifestyle. ;D

Did you start the hands comment Craigie :P

Sorry Michael, no jobs :'( Although if Bugman keeps telling lies about me, mine may be available if I get the sack :o ;)

Brett, The Jacks name is 'Tooth', the other smaller one named 'Fang' died a couple of months back. Mate I didn't start the 'Hand' stuff, but it was fun throwing my two bobs worth in ;D

Working in QFS has certainly been an extension to my life style. Before QFS I was just a keen fisho, now I'm a full blown Junkie (still haven't caught much).

Cheers.

No worries bugman, I won't sue, don't want to burn any bridges for future Fishing Trips in your new boat :o :o.

Michael, Have you had a look at the new Merc's that have just been released (and no brett, I don't have the mag on my desk at work ;D). They have released an Optimax (direct injection 2 stroke) in the 75 - 115 hp range. 4 Stroke economy, with 2 stroke performance. Similar price to the Honda and Yammie but still waiting to see the full tests etc. could be very interesting 8)

No, had not heard but I will look into it. Weight is probably my main concern, in theory it should be ligther even though larger HP. Does it come in Tiller version.
My boat probably wont be finished until early Sept at this stage so I have time to check out.
All these new motors start appearing from around now thru till Sept, are there a lot of trade shows around Australia in this period? I have noticed this in years gone by.

Thanks Michael

Michael,

Not sure where your based, but Brisbane has a major Boat show in September that would be displaying all the latest outboards. The new Optimax Mercs (75 - 115 hp) are all around the 163 - 170 kg mark. It seams that all the outboard companys have the same problem, not being able to make the 75,s and 90,s any lighter than the 115's. So if your looking at power to weight ratios, then you buy a boat that is suited to a 115 hp. There is less than a couple of Thousand dollars difference between each engine, so the 115 is the way to go (only my opinion).
I'll check my brochure to see if there is a tiller version ??

Cheers
Craig.

Im in brisbane, It just seems they all start releasing new stuff mid year. So I presume there is a reason for this time of year(financial?)
Its going on a Fisher 480 tiller version, been told that it can carry the weight.
Will behaving a look/run at the Suzuki on saturday
