what mix for 1981 mariner 40 hp ????

Hey guys I have a 1981 mariner 40 hp and the guy I brought it from said he used 50 : 1 mix, since then I have been told I should be running 25 : 1 mix, now I don't know what to run, also I was told to run leaded fuel as part of the mix, I have always ran unleaded. the age of the motor had me thinking that I should use leaded, any thoughts ???

hi i had a 1985 model 40 hp mariner and it ran on 50:1 i always mixed it with premium unleaded fuel NOT lrp

Chris, I had a 1982 60 hp Mariner from new and it ran 50:1. There was no unleaded at the time. The motor was actually made by Yamaha, it was a great motor.
