a guy offered to rebuild my brown band mercury 90 for 2000 is it worth rebuilding o rdo they have to muuch troubles themmotors
Save your pennies mate, if you enjoy boating and fishing get something new or near new. You'll thank me in the long run. 2 grand is a desent chunk out of a good second hand 90, just be sure of the engines history and hours.

How long is a piece of string!
What exactly was the damage? What exactly does the $2000 fix?
Have you nailed down really tight what caused the problem?Otherwise you may be - most probably doing the exercise all over again.
I thought brown bands were good engines, if you spend the money for a full recondition - note i said "full recondition" it will be every bit as good as a brand new one sometimes even better and for around 1/3 the price.nq

I don't think it would be worth the effort.
Get something newer now it has died.
