Hi All,

Just after some advice on what may be wrong. The sounder (Lowrance X51) and bait tank (Johnson pump) on my 400 Hornet Trophy just stopped working. I still have power to start the motor, trim & tilt and power to the nav lights and fuel gauge. I have followed the wireing from the console to the battery cut-off switch and all connections seem OK, and have checked (and replaced) all the fuses.
They were working OK last week, but now - dead [smiley=angel.gif]
Am I missing something simple :-[. Would appreciate some advice (& a solution ;D) before I take it to get looked at.

Cheers

John

hi jt if you have a test light go direct to the sounder power plug and see if you have power do the same on the bait pump if you have power then problem in sounder and motor (pump)if you have no power trace wires back until you get power maybe broke wire check if you got power both sides of fuse also check both sides of your switch shoud always have power 1side of switch turn swith on and off to check corrison always problem in switchs and fuse holders also check earth wires on both to buy test light go to super cheap about $10

Thanks Dave and Marty - I got lazy, haven't run the tests yet, I'll grab a test light tomorrow. Looks like I have plenty of time before I get the boat out again anyway - bloody wind >:( >:(.
One good thing to come out of no fishing - earning plenty of brownie points by painting the lounge room ;D ;D.
Marty - like I said on the PM - With the prawn season the way it is at the moment best bet for prawns is Woolies "Thawed for your Convieniance" ;D

Well, ran the tests with the test light, found the problems (dodgey connection and corrosion in a connector) and have fixed them ;D ;D. Thanks for the help Dave and Marty.
Now we just need the bloody wind to pi$$ off. A week off work and one fishing trip, enough to make you cry.
Cheers

John
