I want to pull out the box/cupboard seats I have in my boat and put in pedastals. There are a number of ready made products available from most boating stores. Is it as simple as scewing them into the fibreglass floor or do I have to locate stringers to screw into?

Any help would be great.

Agree with John . Push down hard on the floor with your foot where you want to mount the pedestals . If its a bit springy you may have to glass on a ply plate to strengthen the mount area . Use big screws on the base and sikaflex them and any flat parts of the base to help the mount strength .

Now thats a good idea to get battery weight away from the back of the boat John - where's my tape measure .
