Payed for my glass stringers today, pleasant surprise. Was told they would be about $450, let me say for the work it was saving me I was happy at that price. I dropped in today and asked what the damage was, give us minute and we will work it out. Tells me $115 each, total $230. Thank you Circular Head Marine

You lucky, lucky man! I nearly fell of my chair with shock! Sorry, just very cynical right now.
Looks like you've found one of those rare, reliable dealers. They are like the Tasmanian Tiger, they are probably out there, but there's little hard evidence of their existance!
Good to hear a success story.

Thats a nice saving Blaze...good to see a dealer looking after their customers...seems like you going full steam ahead...do you have a projected time line for completion?

3 months rev, thats all depends on money and how it lasts. I basicly taken the labor content out of the quote and put into consolidated revenu (give it to minister of finaces) so I can work on the boat without chasing extra funds to meet my share of commitments. So I am hoping to get an extra couple of days a week to work on it. Be nice to have back in the water by the end of janurary though. the problems I see is drying times and working solo this time will slow things down.
cheers

Blase, are you going to glass in a plywood floor. A solid floor keyed in with the bulheads it will add a lot of stength to the hull.

not sure if I will use ply or difinacell (close cell foam sheet) and make it totally timber free, the down side to this is the loss of weight and I dont want it bouncing around like a tin dish so at this time I am edging my bets it will end up ply toatally encased in glass

Earlier this year I bought a new motor. On discussing pricing etc with the dealer, he said he could get a 2004 compliance plated motor off the wholesaler for about 2 grand less than an 05 plate if I was interested. No probs. didn't bother me as it was the same motor with no changes, and 2 grand is 2 grand, a few yrs down the track it would make bugger all difference to re sale.
We agreed on $10 250, pull the old one off & new one fitted ready to go. I paid a lump of it up front.
Later in the week when the motor arrived & was fitted, while settling the rest of the bill, he said it came in a bit cheaper @ $9850.
There are some good guys out there. Be fussy who you deal with ;D
