Just wondering about electric motors on boats. Are they a worthwhile investment, seems to be a hugh price range to choose from. Seem popular for freshwater fishing, which is something I'm just starting to get into.
Any thought?

hurlz..40pounder should do.depending if you have back up (petrol).i use 30lb on a 3.5 does fine.2hrs flat out or 8hrs trolling per battery(DEEP CYCLE 85amp hrs).i normally carry 2,sometimes 3 if day night("W" bass and yella chasing).too many to discuss here.saltwater, auto helm, transom mount, bow mount, foot control, maximisers etc etc .price anywhere from$600 (Motor+1battery).DOES YOUR SUMS ON POWER NEEDS 2xthrust does not necessarily =2xspeed just uses more battery power.note 2hrs flat out 8hrs half throttle.good luck alex
