Hi

I have bounced around on the front seat of a few tinnies, and am getting too old for this.

I've seen a few (large) but still tiller steer tinnies with two seats down the back. Looks really cool, and I guess that the ride would be pretty good.

Question is, what is the minimum length you need to have two adults on the back seat of a tiller steer without the nose being two metres out of the water. Or are there other tricks you can use (PS Yes I know about foils, but using a foil alone won't lift the stern of a 12 ft tinny with two adults down the back)

Why not get a polycraft 4.1. I have one and they definitely ride softer than tinnie. I haven't tried it with two seated at the back but I'm pretty sure it will work with the motor on the fully in trim position and a bit of gear shifted to the front. The 4.5m poly would handle 2 at the back even easier.

Whichway,
I have a 15ft allycraft rhino, with a 40hp two stroke yammy tiller steer on the back. It has a stingray brand foil on the back. Now with me (101kg) and my brother in law (150kg) down the back with 25 litres of fuel the boat operates quite nicely, with no noticable bow lift, which is pretty amazing, but without the foil, there is no hope....
We both sit down the back because the boat goes faster by four knots if we do. Cheers Ray

I have a 445 Sioux with a 50 yammy only bowlift I have is the 5 - 10 secs until on the plane.

But I know where you are coming from unfortunately with a 12ft you generally can not get enough power to em to compensate for the rear weight with multiple people at back and an empty front.

I used to carry two fertiliser bags full of sand to act as a counterweight when fishing solo in my 13 ft mantacraft with 25 as I am around 150. which is the reason i upgraded.
