Hi all
i'll give you more detail ;)
mostly we spend 10-30 minutes to landed 50-70 kg Rays coz power lift of 50-80lb trolling or stand up rod can pull them up from muddy bottom (they alway stick on the bottom and rest before start running again and do it again and again...until you give up or line break...or land em)
and we spend 5-10 hours to deal with 100-200 kg Ray even sometime fight with full max drag and full preset :P
the 18hours case is the longest fought and I think they must bigger than 300 kg ???
and all rays were released
Regards
Ocean

opppsss...
I think i just made a misunderstand....not only me who fought all 18ours...me and myfriends together
the story is...this ray hooked on 20.00 I fought for first2 hours I tell my friend we can't land this ray for sure and I go home to sleep, my friend (1st pic)take the respondsibility from me(the sad story begin..) he and his friends spend all night to fought, to follow , to waited... when the ray stick on the bottom, I return to the river again at10 am. and fought for 2 hours I fought with full drag full preset fear not to break the line but it not break ??? ???, so! I tell my friend again that we can't land em,too big for80lb gear, but everyone want to see how big this ray! my friend continue fight and I decide to go home and get a phone call on 14.00pm " line break" that's the end of story.
the game will be shorter or easier if we have to kill ray but we won't, we don't use any gaff or spear we have to grab the hole(nose) beside they eye and rope em before take out the hook and release em.
cheers

Mate that's madhouse :o. You and your friends must be insane. ;D Good to see you release them when you can't take it any longer ;D, or land them ;). A great idea to release them just so as they can suck some little kids under :o ::) , or spiflocate (some form of total dislocation of the body ??? ) another unwarned fisherman. ;D
