Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat
We camped at the Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat, had three great days bush walking and fishing Cania dam last week and I finally caught my first bass and my son caught his first Saratoga. All of our bass averaged380mm, 390mm. My biggest was 410mm and Nat’s was 430mm, his biggest toga was a nice 630mm. All the bass were caught within 500m from the boat ramp, trolling and jigging. It’s a great spot for family camping with all the family catered for.

how much was it to camp at Cania? And do you have the number for the campsite mate?

It is about 18k from the dam and right at the entrance to the National Park. I have stayed at both and they are both clean, tidy and very friendly with heaps of things for the family to keep them busy.

How much water is there in Cania at the moment? Did you travel up to the standing timber? You say you got the Bass from within a short distance of the ramp but didn't say where the toga was from? Sorry about the ?? but hoping to head over for a quick trip early March all info greatfully accepted.

We did not get up to timber, all the fish were schooled up ready to spawn so we did not have to go far. The toga were caught along the drop offs in late afternoon on the first right bend heading up to the timber.
