How is the fishing at Bjelke Petersen Dam?

Has anyone heard any recent reports from Bjelke Petersen Dam?

I'm heading up that way tomorrow and wondering if its worth taking the boat?

Mate seen a story in paper the other day.Only about 5% capacity.. Could be worth a phone call to Camp operator 0741682746

Ended up at BP Dam last Sunday... didn't take the boat or any fishing gear.
Was told that it was not possible to get a boat in without a 4WD.

Anyway, the ramp closest to the tourist park is still usable, although very sandy... hence the need for a 4WD.
The other ramp closer to the dam wall is still usable... rocky, but definately Ok to launch a small boat.

Spoke to a few people who said they weren't getting many... just a couple of Yellowbelly and bass, but nobody had caught anything on the day.

There was plenty of surface activity on the water in the main basin early afternoon, however everyone fishing had given up by then.

Might be worth a try if you going past.
