Lenthalls Update

Looking at hitting Lenthalls this weekend and was wondering if anyone can give feedback as to how it's been fishing the last week or 2????

Also heard that they only open the gates at 6am??? Have they also banned petrol motors all together and if so, can you still launch with a petrol and just not use it or can you not even launch with a petrol bolted on???

black sheep fished there over chrissy,yes the gates open at 6.00am and close at 4.00pm on the dot so dont be late or you will spend the night in,you can use your boat with the motor on as long as you have an electric or small motor less than 6hp,my boat had the electric on and it was great to fish the dam so quiet. the fish was everywhere we went all fish took spinnerbaits both barra and bass with some good fish in amongst them,light colors and deep purples were the best,use a stinger hook as a lot of fish were tapping the blades hope this helps cheers AL

Warrior, it was your report that got the fingers twitchin - was going to do Monduran but from all reports, Lenthalls is fishing well. Hope we have half the luck you did.

Al dont know how you got away with having your big motor on your boat...Rang Michael about entry...His reply was no way....If you have a motor over 6hp conected to your boat....will you get in....Just said ..thanks mate.....and hung up

trev,i think it is up to the descresion of the sucurity guard at the gate we might have been lucky because it was over the christmas break and there was not too many people coming in and out.hopefully not as i am planning another trip soon.the gates will only stay that way till the dam and rec area is finished so lets hope it is not stretched out toooooooo long.

Went out sat and between three of us lost 2 lures to barra and lost one close in

Se/e winds have been blowin all week and cooled the water down somewhat so the fishin is a little harder at the mo

The guard is recording all regos that enter the dam area and yes gates open 6am close 4pm.
If you see anyone doing the wrong thing at the dam please take a photo and send it to wide bay water or myself and i will send it.

Also the caretaker is doing some fish catch recording for our local fish stocking so please record your catch with him :D

That's probably still enough action to entice me. We have decided to leave the outboard on the boat and take the fuel tank out altogether. If the guard isn't happy with that, we can unbolt the motor at the gate. Lucky it's only a 18hp and not a 50+.

Dan - Do you guys want Bass and Barra tagged with ANSA tags as I believe Paul Dolan is but wasn't sure if there is a tagging program at Lenthals. Paul did mention that close to 100 fish have been tagged without a single recapture. Hopefully, that's a good thing and is an indication of the volume of fish.

Paul and i have done some tagging on barra at the dam but have given it a rest for over twelve months to see if any tags come in

no tags have returned as far as i know :(

so as far as i know there is no tagging going on at the mo
