Hey Angelena,
go to page 2 in this section and theres a string called "catching flathead?" which might be helpful. I normally get mine as the tide is going out and the water is dropping over the edge of weed banks. Also cast your bait so it is coming back to you with the current not against the current. Hope that helps.

One more thing I don't think was mentioned in the other string is to use lures that stay on or close to the bottom and kick up a bit of sand on the retrieve. This is not always necessary but I reckon it improves your chances a hell of a lot.
