View Full Version : Tweed river fishing
I am going to head up to the tweed on sat 15/3 and was hoping to head out to the 9-mile, if the weather is crap and the bar too rough, can anyone recomend somewhere to fish in the river. Ive heard you get some good GT's there, also Mangrove jacks, these are the type of fish i'm after, not bream and flatties. So if anyone has any spots you dont mind sending, you can post them here or through a private post, and don't worry i'm not a fish eater so i'm not going to come along and kill every fish i catch. Thanks guys.

Hi Sean
The weather on the GoldCoast at this moment is a bit crappy, but the swell is predicted to drop by the weekend and the wind will probably be southerly's .
The Tweed bar has been a bit on the shallow side lately but a dredge has been working flat out there the last months and things are on the improve.High tide (on the 15/3) is around 6.00am and low is around 12.45pm.So you'll have a good chance at gettin to 9 mile, Mackeral and wahoo have been on the chew there, most were caught on the tow.
With a bit of luck I'll be around the Fido's area
Haven't fished the Tweed river for a while but a mate was telling me there been gettin some Jacks around the rock walls at Chinderah
Cheers Willo
