After reading the tips from all the experts, I headed out to Dohles the other day and look along a lure for a bit of bottom bashing.
I found what I thought was a likely spot and started a slow troll about a meter or so from the bank.
On the second pass, bang...I hooked up a 40cm flattie!
It's a bit difficult trolling and steering at the same time by yourself, and after I bagging my catch, bugger me if some clown didn't zip over and anchor up right in the middle of where I was trolling!
But I tried again and lost my lure on a snag.
Anyway, the best thing was that I put into practice what I learned here and it worked - I got the fish I was actually targetting! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
