Dig out a few ploppa poppers and give it a whirl.. trevally cant resist.. use poppers around 6cm.. natural colours.. but not super bright.. should nudge a few into attacking and you might snag upto some really nice trevs

S.tury mate did you see a man on the third pilon? Well that was me! I bummed a ride out there at around 9am right and there was about 30cm pilon from the water come 10 it was about level and come 11 it was right up to my ankle! But luckly it didn't rise much higher of i woulda been a gona! :P I got a nice feed of trevally, 5 about 45cm mark but i did see these 5 men on the second pilon snag 5 jew wich was a bit of all right

Sorry i i forgot to mention that didn't I? The men on the 2 pilon were using live herring for the 2-3kg jew, i would have used a live herring but I only had my light 6lb rod on a light reel and that's all i can really take when i'm riding from Palmwoods, any way i was using 3 inch drop shots.

Shaz, 6lb gear is plenty for a 2-3kg jew.. they have about 1 good solid run, then they wear out, just remember, take ur time, dont try and skull drag the fish in.. ive caught a few around maroochy on 6lb line and have hardly lost any.. use the reels drag to fight the fish.. not the rod or the line..

How'd you go? I went out today with 2 mates, got there at about 4am, took my mates blow up boat out to the pilons and it poped on the oasters just as we were all getting out! But it was pritty quite, landed one 25cm and one 30cm bream on live herring which amazed me but that was about it, Finnaly got back to the land at about 7:00 cause some guys gave us a lift back, tried near the cruise maroochy boat were alot of herring were chopping, and lost the tail to my sp and left at around 8:00, but apart from that a pritty quite mornin at maroochy.
