anyone fished the floodway and caught decent size fish in the area. What type of fish? Wandering if there would be any jacks around the area now that its starting to warm up? I have fished there and only caught small bream whiting tailor and pike on sp's
Cool! someone has fished it and caught something! I have often looked at it as I drive too fast and running late to the airport or somewhere other than fishing.
Let us know how you go.

I have not been to Nudgee for a couple of months, however last time I was there flicking the sp's around I saw a guy get a 55cm flattie on an sp. I only got an undersize flatty (20cm).
Try an early morning and try fishing towards the mouth. You can walk along the bank and flick sp's and may pick up a flathead that way.

Yup, flatties are there most times.....towards the mouth and right along the little spit at the end. Just use SP's and move around a bit!! [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Caught my PB flatty on that sand spit at the mouth the other week of 44.5cm! :) Using 3" SP's. Also got a few smaller ones there as well. Caught a monster bream (no it wasn't!) of about 15cm i think it was once there as well...
Would be a good spot to drift down the channel. Nice and deep. Or anchor just out of the chanel on the south side and cast around the chanel markers...

We've done pretty well trolling hardbodies on the opposite bank to the ramp. Usually stick to the 1.5-2m range and manage to pick up a few flatties 50cm+.
Only thing is, I don't think you would want to be eating too much stuff that you caught there on a regular basis. Google around for Kedron Brook and Cadmium to find some doco on the subject

Have done a bit of fishing there before I got into boats. Not much luck, bar one time when I took out a mate with a broken leg (footy injury) and sat him about 20m of the rivers edge. About an hour later he manage to jag a 50 cm + flattie. Thats about the biggest i've seen out of the 'Brook'
Damo.

Last time I went out on the bay, set 4 pots and on my return had 5 undersize sand crab busks. Rebaited and pulled again about 90 minutes later for another 4 undersize bucks. Never caught a fish there.
