does anyone know where i might find some pike on the gold coast, im land based.
also what is the most effective method of catching them

best method for catching them is to use a small thin hardbody minnow style lure between 5-7cm long with a big arse rattle. The rattle is the most important thing. get into a school of them and you should be getting one a cast.

i use long shank hook strip of sqid 2" long 1/4"wide split shot on top of hook cast into where darkness meets the light and twitch the rod keeping the tip down low iused to catch heaps at bayveiw habour marina on the sea wall

The Sovereign Island bridge usually holds them as well.

oh ok sounds good, if using bait do you float it or sink it and what times of days are better?? :D

i only ever fished for them at night, just cast out into the shadows were the light finishes let it sink for asecond then just reel in with abit of jiggle to the rod cheers jimbo
