Coral spawn is really heavy up my way at the moment and seems to be putting off the creek fish a bit. Have also found that the pelagics are staying away from it and I am catching them only in the clearer blue water away from the spawn
Anyone got any theorieson fish reaction in terms of biting concerning coral spawn?

Are you sure it's coral spawn?
Did 120km around the north Palms on Tuesday and it was thick with Algae, not coral spawn - water temp 29-31 degrees. The slick was all the way back to Balgal Beach.

Coral spawn and algae will die when in shallow water, releasing ammonia and sometimes other toxic compounds. This maybe what is affecting the creek fish. Pelagic fish are generally visual predators, and will therefore be more able to catch prey in clearer water.

i have be told with coral spawn in the water the fish tend feed on it they filled themselves on it.
So when put a bait out or lure, too full to take it .
When its night time the coral spawn glows in the dark i think it spooks the fish out a bit or could be from being full on it
