It can be bought from the bulwer shop or from tangalooma. Pipis can be collected around the low tide mark, just shuffle as you're fishing and when you feel a hard shell dig it out. Or if it is close to low tide, look in other vehicles tracks and dig out where you see little circular mounds. This only works on the surf side though. You can also pump yabbies in the lagoon at yellow patch if you find the right spots, or collect soldier crabs from the same area. Finally, the island's surf side also has some big beach worms if you're any good at luring them out of the sand. Good luck, it's a beautiful place.

Hey NMK,
I've caught poddies in a cast net around the rocks at Yellowpatch at low tide. I think they're also in the lagoon that imnotoriginal is talking about too.

Oh, and you may get some bigger ones out of the mirror pools down the bottom of the island

I have also caught poddies by cast net both in the small surf near the yellow patch and also down on the surf side of kooringal.
If you drive along the west 4WD track near Kooringal you will also find a few yabby spots there. Try your cast net there also for livies.
At Tangalooma, I have also taken cunjevoi from the pylons. Casting off the Tangalooma jetty will yield live hardiheads, if your persistent, or if the megaload happen to swim the wrong direction and into your net. They are perfect bait for trevally and the larger golden trevally that lurk there and at the wrecks. Bait jigging there at night will yield pike. Shoals of poddies go by every now and then. Be aware that if you're not staying at Tangalooma resort, they kinda don't like you to fish there.
Bulwer, Kooringal and Tangalooma all sell frozen bait.

try soft plastics for the pike off the jetty at tangalooma, a slow retrive normally works well. Occasionally they get schools of yellowtail and slimies through there also. I saw a guy with a drag net up at the lagoon one year getting little biddies out from near the reeds. Don't know if that wuld still work, I've never owned a drag net. Good luck.
