Fishing The Territory

I am moving to Katherine in the Northern Territory In 8 days and was wondering if anyone has fished the Katherine River or anywhere around Katherine for that matter? I have never been there before and was hoping that there is some decent fishing up there. Also I am spending a week in Darwin first and was wondering if anyone knows of a good place to fish resonably close to the city as I will be using public transport or if anyone can reccomend a good fishing charter that is resonably cheap. Any comments would be helpful.
