strange fish

just had a intresting but slow afternoon kayak fishing in the canals
only caught a few flathead and few bream with every one of them under size (not that i cared wasn't after a feed)
anyway hooked into something that was a screamer
carveing up the surface warter like you wouldn't belive and huge boils when it wanted to go deep BUT unlike most fish wasn't intrested in any snags to do me in on
at first i hoped it was a bream then i though i may be a nice little GT we see in the summer time but i was shatted when it got my fist look and discovered it was a sinking MULLET
BUT i was very happy as i caught this mullet useing a soft plastic lure and this was not a jag but he took the lure in the mouth
anyway i was wondering what everyone else has gotten on lure or bait that just took them as a suprise

pic below was taken at home as i didn't have my camera with me but the lure was the one he took and same as the rod and reel
the mullet hopefully is going to get turned in to half a dozern crabs this weekend when i use him as bait ;D

First mullet I have heard of on plastics, well done :D
They don't have a bad little motor in them when they get going huh? Good plan to convert him into something tastier like crabs.

Nice one,my son got one that went 55cm on a prawn one day the bloody thing had a head on it like a footy and tore around the creek for about 20minutes putting on quite a show.As for S/Ps thats the first time I`ve heard of one,well done!!
