ALL THE GREAT PICS OF FISH TAKEN AROUND THE DOUBLE ISLAND AREA HAS FINALLY PROMPTED ME TO PLAN A TRIP TO THIS TOP AREA. AS I CAN'T TOW MY BOAT UP THE BEACH I WILL HAVE TO STAY INSIDE THE WIDE BAY BAR MAKE THE JOURNEY ACROSS TO FISH. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION ON THE BEST SPOT TO CAMP, THE CONDITIONS AND TIPS FOR THE WIDE BAY BAR, BEST DEPTHS TO FISH (CHARTS SUGGEST THERE IS A LOT OF FLAT TYPE GROUND ONCE YOUR OUTSIDE BY 4 OR 5 MILE), BEST FISHING TIMES ETC.
THANKS IN ADVANCE

there is a caravan park at carlow beach which is inside inskip point there is a good boat ramp there & the caravan park is quite big & spacious. option 2 you could camp at kauri creek it has a boat ramp & you can put the pots in for muddies. at kauri the sandies can get quit bad though. as for the bar there are grey silver beacons on inskip & fraser line these up & head across you will be almost heading for fraser , where you are crossing should be no breakers just swell. post me for marks if you want i'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement.
