I have scrolling trough a few fishing related web pages and no one seems to like ETECS. Why is this so?? Is it because they are new to the market and no one has given them a real test?

Is it because they have an Evinrude tag?

I have one and think they are pretty good.

Give me your opinion!

Cheers

Probably still a lot of people with a bad taste in their mouth over the Ficht debacle deciding to vent a bit of anger at the brand name.

Running a 90hp and have no real complaints apart from the dealership I bought it from. Currently fitted with a 19" SST prop and have been told from the BRP that a 17" would suit better. It is powering a 525 Stacer Cuddy with no probs at all. Cruises very comfortably @ 30 knots @ around 3250 - 3750 rpm depending on weight. Top cpeed of around 43 - 45 Knots. but who canes their motor all the time???

17" prop would suit my application much better.

Fuel efficiency is fantastic eg. a few weeks ago launch Pinkenba - eastern side of Mud Island - Big Sand Hills - Tangalooma - River Wreck - back to Eastern side of Mud then back to Pinkenba. Three Guys and my eldest son (8 years old) all the fishing gear, a full tank (100 litres) and a carton or two. 34 litres. :o

Admittedly the bay was dead flat but for that trip.

I was happy with that.

I chew heaps more fuel when it chops up but who doesn't, thats when the 17" prop would be perfect.

Any other Q's just ask.

Cheers

what dealer did you buy it from as i am looking to buy one and don't want any problems with no dealer like the last time I had to deal with a boat shop.

heard that before and had some bad experiences myself too. I will never go back to the dealership on a 'corner' only a 'stones' throw from the city. Who did you have problems with?
