Therev were some mckerel around over the ANZAC weekend, may still be there. Try around the markers out from Kauri creek. Got some tailor and bream further north too. Other than that theres a lot of water to explore in your tinny if the weathers right.
Thanks for that. I will take a little of everything just in case.
Where's the best ramp to put in at?

I've got a charter with Ivan booked up there next Thursday and Friday. But we will be heading out huntin' Reds. Post up yer reports after the weekend, I'd still be keen to know how life is fishing up there anyhow.
Cheers,

Are you looking at fishing offshore or staying inside the bar.?

The beach launch at DI is probally the worst i have seen it and a real pain in the butt. Alot of sand has been washed away and launching is only possible near the toilet block where there is very little protection. The beach is extremly steep and everyone is having major troubles getting back upto the top of the soft sand. last trip 4 boats/4x4 had to be snatch out by another vechile.
This is what its been like.
Cheers Greg

hey Armoz
If you go into any of the local tackle stores up here you should be able to buy a pocket sized book wiht geral locations and most importantly the GPS marks for most of the more common spots both inside and out, between Seventeen Seventy and and Rainbow.Tried to find my copy for the name but it's lost in the filing system.Shouldn't be hard to get just ask it's in most b&T shops in the Wide Bay.Only about $3or$4 worht it's wieght in gold. Also try the "Fishing Hervy Bay" site there's a section in there with GPS marks for anywhere you want in OZ.
Good luck to you.....molten.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

banshee.. the guy who owned the tackle store on the left as you go in ( peter cantrell ) sold his bussiness about 2 years ago and now its vacant. i know him pretty well he's in our fishing club. your right though teebar ledge is a good spot especialy at night and if ya want some fun try trolling some little lures like rmg's or similar about half way up the water colum along that ledge... never know whats going to hit em!.

G'day Surf Sniper,it's a pity that he's not there anymore He was a top bloke who couldn't do enough for you, both he and his wife always seemed genuinely interested in what I was catching always offering other spots and tips to make my holiday more enjoyable.

Been quite a few years since I've been there,I would advise you go to the tackle shop on your left on the way in,buy some stuff and ask him to show you where Tee Bar ledge is,there are a few other ledges in the sheltered water that give up reef fish from time to time,Tee Bar creek is well worth a look as is the jety at bullock point(pulled some nice jacks out of there). The bloke in the tackle shop used to have convenient sized maps of the area that were definately worth having.
