would you answer to an annonimous call on the radi

while fishing off port kembla this weekend gone. i was listening to channel 96 (marrine chat) there was at least 20 plus trailers at that ramp alone. when i caught my 1st nannigy ever (26cm) i was unsure of size limit and asked over the radio if anyone knew it :-X NO ANSWER for at least 1/2 dozen calls then returned the fish to the water. i know for a fact that at least 5 boats where there from a fish club from west sydney as i spoke to and even enjoyed a beer with 1 of them
PS still need size and bag limit as i cant find in my regs book

Sounds like a fish that needs to grow up but I know what you mean. Could be that they did not know either, is that the same name as fisheries use?? :-/

There can be alot of shit talk on the radio at times, absolute rubbish. Maybe they were ignoring it for that reason?

I wouldn't have a problem answering your question over the radio if I thought it was legit, but really why would you even consider keeping a little fish around 26 cm long ??? Maybe things are a bit different down Pt Kembla way.

I identified myself with my eagle number (coast gaurd member) and directed the call to anyone on that channel asking does anyone on channel know the size limit on nannigy. simple and straight forward
maybe the fish did need to do some more growing but ive heard they are good eating and i wouldnt have minded trying one providing it was of legal size.
as smigspig and fishaholick will verify i never take undersize fish and rarely take the bag limit unless i know it will be eaten

mate in nsw nannys have no min size however 25 is still a some what small fish and we don't tend to keep them till they are over 30cm that way you get a bit of fleash with the fishes head ;)

Shocked to think you can't get an answer to a simple question. But then I'm intrigued that you'd never caught a nannigy and didn't know the legal size!
