I'm heading up to Brisy in a couple of months(from Bondi) and i want to try some spots along the way. So what are the best blackfish spots on the east coast of Australia?? Any suggestions gladly appreciated.

try the richmond river at ballina. The river is full of them at the moment. All the locals have been getting their bag almost every day for the last fortnigt.

Southern breakwall at Foster is good. You can get weed in a small pool adjacent to the breakwall.

Thanks for those suggestions i have jotted the places down. I havn't tried fishing for then in a river, but i'd like to try it out. Do you fish for them the same way as from rocks or is there a different approach. Where else is good along the coast?
By the way was Blackfishing couple of days ago with all the light blackfish gear (3.4kg line) and managed to pull up a 1.4kg pig. It took ages to get it in must have been about 8 minutes. Best fight i've had for ages. I've much bigger ones before but not on such light gear,

Fishing for them in the river is basically the same. Except its usually a bit deeper. But generally the same. Try the clarence. The south wall is good. First bend on the river side is a jut of rocks named the T-piece towards the yellow beacon is a good starting spot.

hell what is it with south walls that the blackies love
most of the rivers on the mid north/north coast has healthy blackfish numbers running at the moment

Yeah well those south walls just seem to have it going. But the north wall at iluka has some of the bigger jew that are caught from the clarence.

sameo down here matt the north wall down here at port also see's the bigger and the most jews out of the two walls
just a bugger as you need to cross the punt drive up the gravle road and up the goat track to get to the north wall
