Cairns lures

Me and a mate are heading to Cairns mid october and would like advice on what lures to take. will be fishing the rivers on a boat fishing for barra, jacks, f/mark, etc
Any advice would be great as this is our first time up there. Also, which river works best that time of year??

suprised you haven't got any response by now - been away in Brissie myself.

i generally use Tilsan Barras for lure casting in the inlet and up the Daintree etc. have nailed plenty of barra and jacks on them

plenty of others in the tackle box - but always seem to end up back with a tilsan on. in Gold colour, toucan or orange.

if you are trolling - will depend on the depth you want to run - from Gold bomber for the shallows to any of the aussie made deep divers. - blood mullet is a favourite colour. - Blux Fox Barra Mauler - is the one i seem to tie on the most for trolling.

if you can - head up to the daintree - much better fishing than the Inlet or other rivers closer to cairns - for mine anway.

pppffffft what would moffy know, don't listen to him. Just keep an eye on the fishing reports after this weekend. Sure he may be holding a Barra up but it won't be his ;D ;D
