I just got an Okuma Avenger AV20 Reel and Penn Powerstick Rod to suit it for my new spinning setup, anyone used this stuff before ?

i,ve got a penn power stick 6.6 with a calcutta 700 the rods 10 to 15 kilo, man love the rod. just bought a hexallem live fibre( not sure of spelling) i,m taking it out tom as much as i love the penn i,m thinking its gonna be nice, anyway i find the pen has heaps of grunt 8-)

I've got 8 Penns in my armoury. 5 power sticks and 3 mariners. (15 & 24 kilo) The power sticks have fuji eyes and the mariners don't. From what I know, that's the only difference (found out after I bought the mariners). I just love the 7foot 15kilo. It's been bent 180d a couple of times now and still holds up.

I've had 'em for 4 years and they have held up well considering the constant use they've had. The only thing to look for is the reel housing....they can, and do rust even though they are rinsed every trip. They've handled some big shark pretty well.

Why did I go for 'em? At that time I was pretty much skint and the Hypermarket was knocking 'em out at 49 bucks each. seemed like a good buy at the time as at that price you can bin 'em every couple of years......didn't work that way though....they're still up and running :o :o ;D

Quick questions what size rod and reel would you all use off a rock wall to fish with (like the spit at the gold coast) ?

Depends on what you're targeting mark.

HeHe not to get bloody snagged :| i had a 7ft rod and a 6'6 rod there but the shorter of the 2 was no hope of winding in without snagging.
I am still just getting into fishing at the coast so I am targeting whatever bites any tips are appreciated :)
