Crabbing

With all this talk of stolen pots the missus asked the obvious question - why don't people stay near the pots. I dunno anything about crabbing - so whats the answer - I gather the pots need to be in hours and hours. And night must be the prime time ??

Where you drop your pots are places which are good for catching crabs. These places are often no good at catching fish and so you move on to better fishing locations.

Also many people leave pots out overnight and come back and check them later.

Eg. Go fishing Friday and drop pots on the way out.

Check pots and re-bait them on the way in. Leave pots out overnight.

Go fishing again on Saturday and check pots.



Most of my pots that have walked have gone during the hours of darkness.
