:) mate best thing i found with cobia is to bleed them straight away and at that size cut em n cook em same as any other fillet ..Bigger ones i sometimes turn to steaks and do on the barby..

Grand Marlin,
Even at 6kg I would be thining the fillets down in thickness as it will be overcooked on the outside and raw in the middle otherwise. Any recipe for cooked fish will work well for cobia as the flesh is firm and stays together when cooked.

Good to catch and good to eat!
Simply crumbed and fried is good, I actually knocked up a stir fry with sweet and sour sauce two night ago for a trev I caught.
Cobia would be a good fish for that.
Don't over cook the cobe, can get a bit dry....take Daryl L's advise.
What time is dinner???

thanks for the tips
I tried your idea Roz and modified it to Cajun.... served on a leafy green salad with red onion and topped with a warm mango sauce..... was rather nice.
The BBQ'ing will be next
You are invited for dinner Roz, but u better be quick... it is disappearing quickly!!
Cheers
Pete
