Hi Guys,
I suppose this could almost be a POLL , but I am looking for an idea of how many people regard Soft Plastics as a daytime only presentation. I have noticed quite a few references in these boards along the lines of " got dark so changed from plastics to bait/Hard body lure."

Cmon guys give us some feedback, I always look forward to bunking a few myths

BTW I dont need converting, I already do it. This is more to get people thinking and doing LOL
Cheers Brad

use them all the time day and night

day time seems to see more bream and snag action wheres at night your more spinning for things like jewies and well anytime is the time for a flathead

Night time the right time for SPs

Trevally, Tarpon, Salmon, Queenfish, Javelin Fish have all fallen to soft plastics at night for me.

night is by far the best time to use sp's, because your targeting preditors and they come out at night. also sp's (and for that matter hard bodies) work using vibration as aposed to the fish simply spotting the lure. so even in the muddiest water on the darkest night you should still catch fish.

Anyone tried beach (surf side) fishing with SP's at night (or day for that matter) ? i was planning to go over to Moreton surf side for a few days before the Australia day brigade settle in for their long weekedn but today being Friday the rain is settling in and it looks like the South Easterly's look like stayin so might put that venture off, damn, the wood is all cut too.

Hi Porl,
I know of only to instances where softies are used in the surf, but I bet there alot done without any fanfare.

1 was a guy on Fraser Isl. using bubblegum pink 1 1/2" slider grubs in a gutter for whiting, but catching heaps of good Dart.

2 is a couple of guys who use 3.5 - 4" T tail minnow bodies (Gene Larew Salt minnow & Salt Assassin Turbo Shads) in deeper gutters and of headlands for big Tailor and Jewies mostly up the sunshine coast.

I have also heard of guys in the northern rivers using plastics off the rocks and beaches, but have no hard details as yet.

Cheers Brad
