Hi Scott,
I can't help you personally, but you might wish to send an email to Tye Porter who has lived at Iluka for quite some time and who writes articles in the Bush & Beach magazine.
His email address is (or was): justjewtp@hotmail.com
If you want his phone number, please send me a PM. I'm sure he'll be happy to help you out if he can.
Failing that, there is wise67 (Gerard) who also lives there and then there's young Mattooty (?) who lives on the flash side of the river at Yamba.
They might be able to help you out with something. Hope you find some good spots.
Regards,
TOL

I dont have any specific reefs or gps co-ords but i am going into the tackle store tomoro so i can find a few. Are you coming down? If you are staying on the yamba side, beach launching at angourie (5 min drive from yamba) can put you onto the close mackeral reefs and south to one mans, shelley's and the southern headlands that hold good snapper, especially at the moment after this fresh.

Zoooter, only one way to find out. By march the sppotties should be well and truly firing. Do you have a 4wd as beach launching at angourie is the way to go to get to the close reefs. Straight out from the bar at yamba is a long drive to the good reefs
